It's Our Time to SHINE, Knight Stars!
end of year edition 2022
Our School Vision
Knight Vision: To share in the commitment of rigorous and high-quality instruction to meet the needs of every child.
Our 2021-2022 school theme "It's Our Time to SHINE, Knight Stars!" is directly aligned with our continued vision and instructional expectations for Knight: to share in the commitment of rigorous and high-quality instruction to meet the needs of every child.
Knight Mission: To provide a positive, stimulating, and secure environment that empowers the individual to grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually in order to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world.
Knight Belief: We believe all kids can learn…
…and we will establish high standards of learning that we expect all students to achieve. It is our job to create an environment in our classrooms that engages students in academic work that results in a high level of achievement. We are confident that with our support and help, students can master challenging curricula, and we expect them to do so. We are prepared to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents to achieve this shared educational purpose (DuFour, 1997a).
Dear Knight Family,
Field Day was amazing! This was our first field day in five years, and it was the best one yet! Thank you to our PE teacher, Susan Lanier, for rallying support from our specials team, support team, and families! The students had a wonderful time. It was great to see smiling faces and competitive races! Thank you to everyone who helped in making field day a HUGE success!🙂
A special thank you also goes to our 2021-22 PTA Executive Board, Vanessa Estremadoyro (Co-President), Jocabed Montoya (Co-President), Amy Hardnett (Vice President), and Jeanne Robinson (Treasurer) for going the extra mile to support our students, teachers, and staff. Thank you for your dedicated time, service, and commitment to our school. In addition, I want to also thank our entire School Council Committee, our Chair, Shannon Duncan, Vice-Chair, Michelle Forrester, secretary, Kristy Gordon, and members - Lyndsey Bland-Gunn, Jocabed Montoya, Jennifer Lott, and Paulina Pham for volunteering to provide feedback and ideas throughout the year to better support our school community.
It is so hard to believe that the school year is almost over! It seems that time has just flown by so quickly. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to work with the students, staff, and families of Knight Elementary. Our school is definitely the place to be!
I hope that you all enjoy the last days of school and have an amazing summer! If there is anything I can do to support you, please don't hesitate to reach out: 770-921-2400, toni.ferguson@gcpsk12.org.
