Spanish for Spanish Speakers Placement Exam

The Spanish for Spanish Speakers placement test will be given to 7th-grade students who have indicated Spanish as the home language on the Home Language Survey. The purpose of this test is to identify students eligible to participate in the Spanish for Spanish Speakers Program. This course of study is designed for proficient Spanish speakers and allows four credits of Spanish to be earned in two academic years while in high school or two credits in junior high.

This assessment is for placement purposes only and does not award credit for any course.

This program introduces students to the global marketplace and the ways in which countries buy and sell from each other. Students will gain an understanding of producers and consumers as well as analyze the similarities and differences among countries and the effects of free enterprise.

Volunteers will be matched with a 6th grade teacher and will teach one of the hands-on, interactive sessions from the program to his/her class periods during the day.

JA provides training and all of the materials to make your day a success. All we need is your enthusiasm, life experience, and a willingness to teach children and let JA provide the rest!

Bullying Prevention Information

This is just a reminder that the district has resources that parents and students can access that will help to prevent bullying. There are resources on the Katy ISD Bullying Prevention and Intervention page as to how you can report bullying and what bullying looks like.
