With the fidelity of Progress Monitoring, there is a focus on Targeted Instruction which guides our teaching. We can learn so much from our data analysis through the Progress Monitoring assessments. After the analysis of Progress Monitoring, reorganization changes should be made for groups in your self-contained Literacy Academy. Please see me for any questions or guidance. I am happy to support!
Thank you for all that you do!!!

Focus on Classroom Observations-Standard 3: Delivery of Instruction
As we visit classrooms, we will be focusing on the following two elements:
3b2. Discussion Techniques and Student Participation Techniques are used to ensure that all students share their thinking around challenging questionsEffective Practice: Teacher uses intentional, differentiated strategies to engage all students in discussion, attempting gradual release from teacher-directed to student initiated conversation. Students participate in intellectually challenging discussions.
3c1. Standards-Based Projects, Activities and Assignments Standards-aligned learning activities cognitively engage students in the lesson
Effective Practice: Instructional projects, activities and assignments are aligned to the instructional standards, require higher levels of thinking, are culturally relevant, and may include real-world application. Most students are cognitively engaged, constructing their own understanding and exploring content. The learning activities are differentiated, as necessary, to meet the learning needs of student subgroups.
Glows
- Classrooms visited this week displayed an ISS/Science board.
- 1/5 classrooms visited integrated discussion techniques into the lesson
Grows
- Place the standard and task with student work on your bulletin boards. Let's continue to create positive learning environments in our classrooms that demonstrate our focus on STEAM.
Focus for Next Week
We will continue our focus on STEAM and room environment.
