Hosting a UIL competition is a big undertaking, and we can use volunteers in many different areas(concessions, hospitality, judging, just to name a few)...if you'd be available to help out, please email me.

Lady Vikings Travel To Badger Country
8th B vs Lampasas
The Lady Vikings traveled to Lampasas. This was our 3rd meeting of the season and while the score hasn’t gone our way we have continued to bring the fight. Offensive players of the game were Kennedy Brown and Hannah Koenning. Hannah Koenning was also our leading scorer. Defensive player of the game goes to Ava Bailey. Leading up to this game we knew the Lady Badgers had a strong power forward who dominated in the points our previous meetups. Ava was prepared for her and executed her job perfectly. Her toughness inspired her whole team to play just as aggressively. That leads us to the duo of Sofia Garcia and Hannah Koenning. They led their team in defensive rebounds. The duo (stay tuned for their nickname) worked hard to protect our basket but exited the game early with 5 fouls each. When we needed someone to fill those spots under the basket Valerie Marin and Helen Munoz stepped up to learn the new role. Another player to note on defense is Elle Head who led our team in steals. Looking forward to next week when we travel to Marble Falls.
7th B vs Lampasas
The Lady Vikings traveled to Lampasas. Offensive player of the game goes to Stella Granger. Her all around awareness of the game has grown so much this season and it really showed last night. Her shot percentage has gone up, she’s an outlet to help bring the ball down the court when needed, and everytime she leaves the bench she’s ready to execute whatever I’ve drawn up for her. Defensive player of the game goes to Shelby Rosprim. Her match up last night was tough but she proved to be tougher. Peyton Christensen and Liana Stevens continue to be great leaders on the court. They bring down the ball to set up our offense creating shot opportunities. Peyton’s ability to create shot opportunities caught the Lady Badgers in foul trouble early. We weren’t able to capitalize on many of those free throw opportunities and will continue to work on those mechanics during practice. Stella Maxwell led the Lady Vikings in assists by feeding the ball to Aaliyah Authur for a few easy baskets. Switching off on defense were Madison Hawes, Ariana Yorek, and Sienna Mcguire. All able to grab rebounds on defense. Sienna also contributed in steals along with Lauren Carpenter and Molly Cortez. Looking forward to next week when we travel to Marble Falls.
7th A vs Lampasas
The Lady Vikings had a tough loss tonight. We played the Lady Badgers of Lampasas. The Lady Badgers were quick on their feet and had great shots. Our Lady Vikings fought hard but just couldn’t match up. The offensive players of the game were Te’A Turner and Lilah Culbreth. Lilah Culbreth brought in 8 points for her team and Te’A Turner scored 7. The girls had some good looks converting them into points. Defensive player of the game goes to Annabelle Wheeler. She dominated on the rebounds and stayed strong on her turnovers. Aislin Munoz also had a good game working hard on both ends of the court. Shy Krisnamurthy battled back and forth, coming away with some good steals. Rain Nelson put in some good minutes and hustled hard on defense. Kinsley Boyd had a few good rebounds and stole the ball from the Lady Badgers. Elena Prescott and Leya Sund entered in some productive minutes on the floor. Our Lady Vikings couldn’t come up with a win tonight but they never stopped playing.
8A VS LAMPASAS
The 8th A Lady Vikings traveled to Lampasas this past Thursday evening to take on the district leading Lady Badgers. The girls anticipated a tough matchup as Lampasas’s size and length was going to cause us some problems. Entering the game the Lady Vikings had goals of improving their rebounding on both ends of the court hoping to limit scoring opportunities for Lampasas while creating a few more for themselves. In the first quarter that’s exactly what they did. The Lady Vikings were able to limit the offensive looks from the Badgers throughout the first quarter by getting many defensive rebounds. On the offensive end the girls fought hard for rebounds as well but weren’t able to convert many into points as the height and length of the Badgers low post players made it difficult to get shots up in the paint. At the end of the first quarter the Lady Vikings only trailed by 1 point, a big improvement from the previous two games. The second quarter saw more of the same as the Lady Vikings continued to play solid defense and maintained their commitment to better rebounding. Unfortunately points were still tough to come by. The girls only trailed by about 10 points at the half. In the second half Lampasas continued to slowly separate from the Lady Vikings creating a big margin on the scoreboard they would not relinquish. All in all it was a solid effort for the evening from the Lady Vikings. While points were still tough to come by, the girls created numerous scoring chances on offense, played solid halfcourt defense for a number of possessions, denied easy looks on inbounds plays, and limited Lampasas to very few if any break away scores. These girls work hard and play hard every night! The girls will travel to Marble Falls next Thursday evening before playing in their final home game on Feb 1st.

This message is to inform you that annual student registration is open in Ascender ParentPortal.
As a reminder, annual registration must be completed EACH YEAR because these forms provide us with important permissions and information that must be provided annually. It is also very important to note that the information provided in Ascender ParentPortal is what the school uses to contact parents in the event of an emergency, so it is very important that all information is correct and up-to-date.

WHAT IF I HAVE A NEWLY ENROLLED STUDENT? WHAT IF DON'T SEE MY ENROLLED STUDENT IN ASCENDER PARENTPORTAL?
If you enrolled your student during summer enrollment, you must still complete annual registration forms. If you don't see your enrolled student when you log in, an Ascender ParentPortal ID is needed in order to link to your student and complete the annual registration forms.
Please email registration@lagovistaisd.net and your campus registrar to receive your student's Ascender ParentPortal ID. Please note that there may be slight delays in answering requests during peak times, such as this, but we will get it to you as quickly as possible!
Once you receive your student's Ascender ParentPortal ID from the campus registrar, please log into Ascender ParentPortal, select "Link to Enrolled Student", and enter the ParentPortal ID and the student's date of birth.
WHAT IF I SEE MY STUDENT, BUT DON'T HAVE A "REGISTRATION" OPTION?
In order to complete forms or update data for a student, the email address you have listed in Ascender ParentPortal must match what we have in our system. If you can see your student, but can't update any information, those email addresses do not match. We recommend updating and verifying your email address in Ascender ParentPortal. Vaping = DAEP
HB 114 makes offenses involving the possession and/or or use of vapes a mandatory DAEP offense. School districts will now be required to place all students who are caught in possession and/or or using vapes (of any kind – not just those with drugs) into their DAEP.
Please share this with your children - it's just not worth it!
