Dear Wessagusset Families,
Although there is still plenty of summer left to enjoy, it is time to start preparing for the new school year. One of the things I love about education is that every September we get a fresh start. It feels like we are given a new, blank notebook and get to choose what we create on each page. We have 180 pages of learning, growth, and friendship ahead of us…and I know we will create so many incredible things this year! At Wessagusset we will continue to focus on academic achievement, building strong connections, and fostering social-emotional development. Our school goals include:
Educating the whole child, with an emphasis on high-quality, individualized instruction.
Creating an inclusive community that sees diversity as a strength.
Valuing collaboration, communication, and connection.
Working together to live our core values of respect, ownership, achievement, and responsibility.
Assistant Principal Nicole Doherty and I are looking forward to working with families, school staff and teachers to help our students build the skills necessary to have a successful educational experience and to be productive members of our community. Our exceptional staff are committed to helping students view our school as a safe, positive, inclusive, place.
We hope you will join us for two very special events, sponsored by our Parent Council: the Kindergarten Playdate on Thursday, September 1st from 5:30-6:00, and the Back to School Ice Cream Social on Thursday, September 1st from 6:00-7:30. More information about these events can be found below.
To view your child’s classroom placement, please log on to the Aspen Portal on or after August 19, 2022. The first day of school for Grades 1-5 is on Tuesday, Sept 6th. This is a half day for students, with dismissal at 11:50 AM.
