Unit 6 Checklist

Define Words

Radians - The angle made by taking the radius and wrapping it along the edge of the circle.


Degrees - A measure for angles. (Ex. 360 degrees)


Initial side - The ray where measurement of an angle starts.


Terminal side - The ray where measurement of an angle stops.


Coterminal angle - Drawn in Standard position, share a terminal side.


Reference Angle - A acute version of that angle.


Unit Circle - A circle with a radius of one.


Tangent - A plane curve at a given point is the straight line that “just touches” the curve at that point.


Secant - A line that intersects two points on the curve.


Sine - The length of the opposite side divided by the length of the hypotenuse.


Cosine - The length of the adjacent side divided by the length of the hypotenuse.


Cosecant - The length of the hypotenuse divided by the length of the opposite side.


Cotangent - The length of the adjacent side divided by the length of the opposite side.
