Unblocking Smore At Your School
Resources and FAQs:
Why can't I access Smore at my school?
Sometimes, schools/district can restrict content and access to certain websites if these websites are not on a school defined pre-approved list.
If you believe this has occurred at your school/district, it is best to contact your IT department and have them unblock www.smore.com.
If you or your IT department need more help with unblocking Smore, contact us at support@smore.com
Why isn't anyone at my school/district receiving my emails?
If you are seeing a red "x" next to your entire contact list and all of your recipients have the same school domain, your school's spam filters could be blocking Smore. Again, we recommend contact your IT department at your school/district and have them whitelist Smore's domain and IP addresses.
What IP's should my school unblock?
Your school can unblock the following domains and IP addresses:
Domains:
users.smore.comSmore.com
IP addresses:
143.55.224.105
143.55.227.140
143.55.227.216
143.55.227.238
143.55.227.4
159.112.250.184
159.112.250.210
159.135.228.84
159.135.239.99

Once your IT department has unblocked the above IP addresses and domains, your recipients should receive your Smore emails.
Can I use a list-serv instead of importing my contacts into Smore?
Yes, you can use a list-serv instead of importing your entire contact list into Smore. However, there are two concerns to keep in mind:
1. Because of the nature of a list-serv and the way that the email addresses are grouped, if a recipient within a list-serv decides they want to "unsubscribe" from your Smore emails or "block" all communication from you, they will be able to manage the entire list-serv "unsubscribe" options. This will then lead to this one recipient unsubscribing the ENTIRE list-serv from receiving emails from you.
You can learn more about "unsubscribe" vs. "blocked" by clicking HERE!
2. Using a list-serv will skew your newsletter's Analytics. This means that you will not have as accurate data on how your recipients interact with your newsletter.
Although using a list-serv is possible, we recommend uploading all of your contacts into Smore to combat the issues listed above.
Can I change the "From" email address?
No. Currently, we do not offer the ability to change the "From" email address when emailing your newsletter through Smore and all emailed newsletters will come from the domain: [username]@users.smore.com
The reason we send emails through our own domain is to ensure a more reliable deliverability experience and allow us to track and make sure your emails are being delivered!
