Red Ribbon Week is Here!
National Red Ribbon Week is a time to take a stand for the hopes and dreams of our children through a commitment to drug prevention and education. The ultimate goal is the creation of a drug free America! The students and staff are invited to participate in optional clothing themes to celebrate drug awareness month. This is a great time for parents to discuss the dangers of drugs and alcohol with your children. Please encourage them to participate in the activities this week as we celebrate living a drug free life!
Thursday -10/25- “Wear your 1950’s attire for our 50th day of School”
- · Read and sign Drug Free Pledge this week
Friday-10/26- “Team Up Against Drugs” and “Crazy Hat” Day
- Staff and students may wear their favorite college OR team shirt/jersey because by working together we can help in making our future better and keeping it drug free!
- · Wear any hat or cap—put a “cap on drugs.”
- **Together Everyone Accomplishes More (T.E.A.M.)**
Monday-10/29 -Wear “RED shirts & Give Drugs The “ Boot” Day
- · Staff and students may wear RED SHIRTS AND BOOTS with uniform bottoms.
- **Wear RED to show you are “red”-y to live a drug free life!**
Tuesday-10/30 – Be A “Superhero”—Don’t Do Drugs!
- *Dress as your favorite superhero and show that you have the POWER to stay drug free!
Wednesday -10/31 - “Great Character Day”
- * Staff and students can dress as their favorite book character and bring their book to school.
- * Character parade will take place towards the end of the day.
Thursday – 11/1 – “Wear patriotic red, white &blue, Camouflage & Crazy Hair” Day
· Students can also wear their hair a “silly” way OR wear a wig
· Show you can be all you can be when you are drug free!
Don't Be Tardy for the Party!
The attendance focus for the month of October is on-time arrival. For the month of October, the classroom teachers, along with the attendance team will be closely monitoring morning attendance and tardies. Students who have 0 tardies for the week will be entered into a weekly drawing. If their name is pulled, they will win a prize for their timeliness!

· GO foods: are foods that contain very little fat or sugar--sometimes none at all!
· WHOA foods: are foods that contain a lot of fat, or sugar, or both.
· SLOW foods: are between GO foods and WHOA foods. They contain more fat, or sugar, or both than GO foods. But they contain less fat, or sugar, or both than WHOA foods.
Lunch with your child is every Friday!
