FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL INFORMATION AND REMINDERS FROM MRS. TORRES
REMINDERS:
- We will be rotating eating on the outside tables weekly. This week Kindergarten, 2nd, and 5th grade will be eating outside, 1st, 4th, 3rd, and ESE will be eating inside the cafeteria, Next week we will rotate. (This is done in an effort to maintain social distancing.) Have students use the paws to know where to sit to maintain their social distancing.
- Please remember that sign in sheets must be filled out by every person entering your classroom. (This does not include your own students.) These forms are mandatory and may be requested for contact tracing.
- Everyone should have received a spray bottle of Bioesque. This spray will be used to disinfect desks and is district approved. These bottles must be left in the sink after school as our custodians will be refilling them each nightly.
- Student compact (Student Agreement) must be sent home this week to be signed and returned. Our recommendation is to pull one from the planner, sign it, and make copies to send out. This will be less work for you as you will not have to sign each one individually. Please collect them from your students and hold. These forms will be returned to me (Mrs. Torres) as a class set. This will be due no later than August 31. (Title I Requirement)
- Our first fire drill will be this Tuesday, August 18 at 9:30 AM. I will be sending out the fire procedures in a separate email.
A few more important reminders
Reminders:
- We are asking that you leave campus by 6 pm in the evenings due to safety and to allow ample time for rooms to be sanitized and fogged without staff being present.
- Custodial staff has many extra duties in sanitizing, refilling cleaner bottles, fogging, moving furniture in and out of the cafeteria, etc. More than ever we will need you to keep a tidy room. Part of your teaching expectations to students is how to keep their areas clean and picked up. Desks must be cleared so that they can be cleaned nightly. You will be responsible for your desk. At the end of the day have students earn dojo points for picking up and cleaning the room. This will assist tremendously in our custodial efforts.
- A card will be available with Angie to sign for Ms. Judy and her family. Please today or tomorrow. It will be near the sign in sheet.
- We will get lanyards to you as soon as possible. The order was damaged and had to be returned. I have a few and will start in Kinder and move to first. The remaining should be here soon.
COVID-19 Symptom Screening Checklist
The following COVID-19 Symptom Screening Checklist is posted when you enter and sign in the school building for your reference. It has also been emailed to you for use at home when you conduct a self-screening.
