PTA Movie Night - Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, November 12th, is a PTA family movie night at HPE. We will be showing Inside Out in the gym. The movie will begin at 6:30. The east activity doors will be open about 6:15. PTA is providing popcorn, but you will need to provide your own drink. Please be mindful of our building and custodial staff and bring in drinks with lids. I did just watch the movie last weekend with my girls and am looking forward to seeing it again.

Parent Survey - Student Led Conferences - Please try again

As you know, this was our first year to have student led conferences. What a great time for students to own their learning! We thank you for attending and would like your feedback. Please take a minute to complete the brief survey below. Your feedback is appreciated and will be used as we plan for future conferences.

Playground Update

We are beginning the process of deciding on some of the changes to our playground. It is very exciting. Tomorrow our Playground Leaders will be giving their input into what piece of equipment they would like added. We are hoping that the changes will begin in the next few months. We will keep you updated as the process gets closer. I can't wait for these updates. Goodbye Wood-chips!

Chromebook Reminders

The students have done a wonderful job with their Chromebooks and it is amazing to see all they can do already. I hope you are taking time at home to learn from them.

One area that we are trying to improve is helping students remember to bring them to school and bring them charged. Mondays and Fridays seem to be the worst days for this. Please help your child develop a routine that will help them with both of these items. Thanks!

Leadership Academy Time

One Friday a month, we are having what we call Leadership Academy Time. This is a time for all of our students to be engaged in 7-habit and Leadership Role Training. Our Kindergarten students stay in the classroom and get a 7-habit centered lesson. Our 1st and 2nd grade students all come to the gym and get a 7-habit centered lesson. Our 3rd and 4th grade students are rotating through all the teams and observing what the building wide leadership roles are all about. Our 5th and 6th grade students are meeting with their leadership teams and staff sponsors to discuss their role and how they can use that role to benefit the building. This is a great time and I encourage you to talk to your child(ren) about it.

Can you help??

For the 1st and 2nd grade group, it takes many volunteers to make that time a success. I can not thank those that have helped enough; as the past two times have been wonderful and all because of the adults that gave of their time. If you have time to help, please visit the link for the next two dates and times. Anyone can help - you do not need to have a 1st or 2nd grade student. THANKS for considering!
