Evergreen Students had a Farm E-I-E-I-O
This week, your little ones worked on their largest and final animal for the farm, a horse! It was quite a lot of work to figure out if we could fit the horses on the farm. They take up 6 whole squares of land space! They did an amazing job figuring out how much money they owed for land, horses and fencing!
Our field trip to Swan Trail Farms was a roaring success! We learned all about plant parts, bees both honey and mason bees and got to visit cows, pigs, donkeys, chickens, kittens and ducks! We even got to plant our own pumpkin seeds which will be ready to harvest this fall!
It was a great week to start our STEM project as well. We are learning all about agricultural engineers, the pollination system and began to learn about hand pollinators today. We learned how important bees and insects are to the environment and we will learn even more about how we might help them pollinate flowers.
Of course, today was an amazing day! The Farmer's Market was a huge success! Thank you so much for all of your help and contribution. The kids had a great time and so did we, the staff! I hope you have wonderful and relaxing weekend and are able to stay cool!
