Dear Incoming Kindergarten Families,
Welcome to Loring School! We are excited to invite you and your child to visit our school for Kindergarten Orientation on May 10, 2023.
When you arrive, you will enter through the library doors (there will be a sign outside directing you to the correct door). Once you enter, you will be welcomed by staff members and invited to join our presentation in the Cafeteria while your child is brought to a kindergarten classroom.
During your visit, your child will have the opportunity to join a kindergarten classroom with future peers for about 30 minutes. Our kindergarten team will support the children as they explore the classroom and participate in a variety of activities. While your child is engaging with some new friends in the classroom, you will have an opportunity to meet with staff in order to learn more about the Loring School and will also have the opportunity to ask questions.
The Orientation will also include a presentation by our PTO representatives. Information on school events will be presented as well as opportunities to volunteer. Orientation will end with our new kindergarteners taking a short bus ride around the neighborhood accompanied by several staff members. This is always a highlight for the children!
Our goal is to have your child feel more comfortable about coming to Loring and to have you get a more complete picture of kindergarten and our school. It is likely that you may have additional questions after your visit. We are always available to discuss them with you.
We are looking forward to welcoming you and your child to the Loring School Community. We believe that the most influential factor in student success is the positive and collaborative relationship with the families of our students. We hope to make your family feel like Pawsome members of the Loring School as quickly as possible.
If you are unable to attend on May 10, we ask that you contact the office at 978.579.0870 x 4001 or email loring_office@sudbury.k12.ma.us
Sincerely,
Sara Harvey - Principal
David Gaita - Assistant Principal
