The Strength of the Pack is in the Wolf
Beginning the Year
It has been a crazy week. Our team has shined as we have pulled together and supported students and parents. It has been a great week of laying a strong foundation. Keep encouraging your teachers and giving them tips and resources to strengthen their practice and classrooms. Thank you for your leadership and support for our teachers. You are amazing!
This newsletter includes somethings pass to me from Stephania and some things I thought may help our teachers. I would like you to look through it and use it as a reference and pass on anything teachers might want.

Students at Home Learn Environment Expectations
Parents will be sent this list of expectations, please encourage your teams to reinforce them.
- Work at a table or Desk - Students need to sit at a desk or table to help with focus and engagement. Students should not be in bed or laying down. This also helps to have students in the proper camera view for google meetings.
- Cameras On/Mic Off- Students are required to have their cameras on while meeting with teachers. This helps the teacher hold the student accountable for their work and participation. The student is also required to keep their mics muted unless they have permission to turn them on.
- Lights On - Students should be in a well lit room with light in front of them not behind. This helps students stay focused and be able to have a clear picture on their camera video feed.
- No Distractions - Students need to be in a location at home with little to no distractions. They need to be separated from others when possible and have no TV, phones, or other forms of entertainment while participating in class or doing work. Students should also not be talking to other at home while working or in meeting unless they are getting assistance.
- Headphones - Students should wear headphone at home while in meetings or watching videos. This helps students to focus on the class and drown out what is going on around them. It can also help with hearing and speaking during meetings.
- No Eating - Students should not eat while on camera or during class instruction. Students are not suppose to have food or drink around IKCA Chromebooks. Food can also be distracting from the meeting or lesson.
