BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION UPDATE

Thank you for supporting our Box Tops for Education program! We have done really good so far this school year. We should get a check in December for a little over $1,300. Some of that was from the end of last school year and then some from this school year. They send checks out in April and December. The submission deadlines for each check are Feb 28 & Oct 31 so be sure to get your box tops turned in by at least the first of Feb & first of Oct. They do have expiration dates and cannot be sent in if they have already expired. I normally collect them the first week of each month. If the box top does not have an expiration date on it then it is not an actual box top. So be sure you can see the expiration date and that it is not expired. Also you can trim them right around the pink dotted line. The less excess around the edges the lighter it will weigh and cost less to mail. That means more money for the school to keep in the end!

Monthly winners so far this year: July - Decker, August - Butler, and Sept/Oct - Murphy.

Don't forget that the class on each track that collects the most for the whole year gets a pizza party the last week of school.

Every Minute Counts!

Hello Laurel Park Families! I am your School Social Worker, Niti Wade. My role is to connect families to community resources and to monitor school-wide attendance. Daily attendance for the entire instructional day is critical to our students' success. Overall, our school has a high rate of daily attendance. Thank you for sending your child to school every day - ready to learn! However, we do have an issue that has recently come to light. Many students are being checked out early on a regular basis. This causes disruptions to our classrooms and can negatively impact instruction. Thank you for considering the frequency and urgency of early dismissals. Additionally, thank you for understanding that early dismissals should occur prior to 3:20PM. Thank you for helping us maintain a stellar learning environment for our students.
