God is Faithful to His Covenant
This Wednesday night we will not be having youth group, but have no fear we are almost through the book of Genesis!!!!!!! You thought it was going to be impossible and yet here we are.
Next Wednesday night we will conclude our journey through the book of Genesis as we take a look at how God is faithful to the covenants he has made. We will continue to look into the life of Joseph as God fulfills his promise to be with him and to bless the world through his dysfunctional yet amazing family!!!! The key takeaway is that Joseph remained faithful because he trusted God's faithfulness towards him. For those who would like to read ahead, our passages will be Genesis 41:46-57; 45:1-15; 50:15-21.
Sunday Night Series - Set Apart
This Sunday we will not be having Youth Night as we take time to celebrate the Easter holiday with our families.
Next week is the beginning of a new Sunday Night series called Set Apart. Over the next four weeks, we will look at how God, through Christ, has called us to be different from the world around us. For those who would like to read ahead, our passages are Leviticus 20:26 and 1 Peter 1:15-16.
No Longer Colorblind
I read an article this week about Jesus not being colorblind. Instantly I was attracted to the seemingly shocking title. Having grown up in poorer neighborhoods my whole life, I was taught from an early age that God made all of us and in a world that seeks to divide us, we as Christians are to be colorblind towards one another.
While I understand the intention of my mother's teaching I must admit that this article was eye opening. In it, Cole Brown challenges the reader to embrace the differences between each of us because in the end, "the basis for our unity is not in similarity. The basis for our unity is Christ." I challenge you to see those around you as God has wonderfully made them in all shapes, colors, and sizes!!!!!!!
