Butterfly School News for SEPTEMBER 2017!!
We have had a great start to our 2017-2018 school year! It is a joy to see all the wonderful learning going on in our classrooms!
Four Butterfly School housekeeping items:
1. The State of Texas requires that you sign your children in and out of class every day! If you drop and go and don't properly sign your child in and out, I will be required to call you to come back to school to complete this legally required procedure.
2. An annual tax statement will be provided to every Butterfly School family in January. Several of you have signed up for a MONTHLY tuition receipt. If you need a monthly tuition receipt, simply stop by the BFS office and check the request list that will be posted on the office window. If your name is not listed, you may add your name and contact information to the sheet provided. This sheet will be posted through September 20th.
3. If you are planning to stay after school and take advantage of the nice weather and use the outside playground equipment, it would be prudent for you and your child to visit the restroom before leaving the building. For SECURITY reasons, the doors will be locked at 2:15 PM, reentry will not be permitted.
4. Now that the new school year is underway and daily routines are being established, it is critically important to coordinate calendars to both drop off and pick up your child on time. BFS hours are from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Your morning punctuality sets your child up for success as we begin our school year and establish our class routines. When your child is late, they miss out. At pick up time, all teachers and staff have been instructed to bring any student that has not been signed out by 2:05 PM to the school office. Please refresh your familiarity with the Parent Handbook. It specifically states that there will be a late fee of $5.00 charged for the first 5 minutes and $2.00 for each additional minute thereafter. For your convenience BFS does offer, for a modest additional fee, the option to sign your child up for the after school care program. If your calendar regularly conflicts with the 2:00 PM pickup requirement, the after school care program may be a less expensive option.
We would like to welcome a few new faces to our Butterfly School family!

RIVERSIDE CHURCH BUTTERFLY SCHOOL SAFTEY TEAM
One of the many great things about RBS is our awesome safety crew! This group of gentlemen volunteer their time each morning and afternoon to help keep your children safe. We are extremely lucky to have them here to help.
Just in case you have not noticed, Butterfly School does have a one-way traffic pattern when it comes to drop-off and pick-up. Our safety team is out there to help remind you of this. Please honor their directions as their first charge is to keep RBS children safe. If you are using the second parking lot during drop-off and pickup, know that when the warehouse across the street opens, you will no longer be able to use that lot (this is a future F.Y.I.)

AFTERSCHOOL CARE!
Need to get the house clean?
Need time to prep food for Thanksgiving day?
Want to get a head start on Christmas shopping?
What about a nap after all the holiday fuss?!!
Running Late?
After School Care (ASC) is here to help!
ASC is available Tuesday-Friday, from 2pm-4pm. It’s $10 for the first hour and
$5 for the second hour. The first hour is typically spent in the classroom where
the kids can play, create art, watch a movie and have a snack that will be provided.
Depending on the weather, we either go to the gym or the playground for the
second hour.
This service is provided by a few Butterfly School teachers and is separate from
Butterfly School. If you’d like to have your student’s information on file to use
ASC on a regular or an as needed basis, pick up paperwork in the office, complete,
and give to your child’s teacher.
See you soon!
