Tuesday Training
At this training session, I'll be discussing how to use Noodle Tools, INSPIRE, Britannica School, and the CPHS Writer's Handbook to incorporate or enhance classroom research. I'll give a brief overview of each, and then we'll take time to set up accounts and brainstorm ideas for use in the classroom.

Resources to Explore
Britannica Image Quest
This database provides royalty-free images for students and staff to use in presentations. Too often, we use copyrighted images without giving credit. There are ways around this in the open Internet, but Image Quest will be quicker to use.
Newsela
This site provides access to articles that can be leveled according to student reading needs. As we help students boost their reading comprehension and explore greater use of nonfiction texts across subjects, Newsela could be an invaluable resource.
Ted-Ed
We've all found a perfect YouTube video to use in class. The Ted-Ed site helps teachers create lessons out of the videos by using the "flipped" model of teaching & learning. There are lessons already created, or you can create your own.
Megan Scott
Megan Scott has been the librarian at CPHS since Fall 2008. In addition to the librarian position, Megan also teaches two sections of English for grade 12. Prior to taking the position as librarian, Megan was a full-time English teacher.
Megan is a co-sponsor of Z Club, coach of both the English and Social Studies ACE teams, and school coordinator for Clinton County Battle of the Books. She also serves on the school improvement committee and the district technology team. Outside of the school, she is a member of the Eliot Rosewater selection committee and is working to become a Google Certified Trainer.
