Hello Stallion Families,

The 100th day of school was a fun day at the Ranch! Our teachers always find creative ways to celebrate the milestone. There were lots of projects in the primary grades, and our 6th graders undertook some healthy challenges like trying to plank for 100 seconds. Dress Like You're 100 Day was an awesome success. We had so many students participate! We has students with white hair, and walkers, and pants pulled up high with suspenders. We even had students dressed up and offering hard candy out to the teachers. It was a riot. I'm so thrilled the students enjoyed our Student Council Spirit Day.

We continue to navigate through the challenges from COVID related absences. It is super important that you do no send your student(s) to school if they are exhibiting symptoms. We currently have 4 classrooms with students testing positive. Please refer to the GPS Notification Dashboard for details. Sonoma Ranch has had over 60 confirmed COVID cases this year. As that number only reflects those with confirmed positive tests, the number of students who have been out with illness or quarantined is higher. I continue to encourage all families to have their students wear masks to school.

Lunch (and breakfast) is FREE

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has extended free meals for children 18 years and younger until further notice to help ensure all children have access to nutritious food as the country recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gilbert Public Schools will provide combo meals at no cost to students for breakfast and lunch. A combo meal includes an entree, fruit and/or vegetable and beverage (milk and/or juice).

We certainly encourage our families to take advantage of this opportunity.
