Learning Lab Exploration
Our school garden is flourishing. We will begin sending home basil and lettuce next week and hopefully, we will have tomatoes soon!
We wrapped up October's music appreciation sketching while listening to calming folk music and bluegrass. We really enjoyed this month's music.
The Wild Rumpus truly brought out the imaginations of our students. Students created a whole tale of how the Wild Things must have visited our playscape on Tuesday evening leaving clues and evidence of mischief-making. Young wild things made wild thing eyeball soup, explored with wild things sensory materials, rumpused in the field with games, and of course, the hit of the day The Wild Rumpus Parade where wild things roared their terrible roars, showed their terrible claws, gnashed their terrible teeth, and rolled their terrible eyes!
We are looking forward to getting deeper into pumpkin science next week, beginning our gratitude projects, and discovering Frida Kahlo and Salvador Dali in art Appreciation.
Reminder: We want your pumpkins!, we will take your old, carved, pumpkins instead of throwing them out. We need them on Tuesday please!

Don't Forget!
Parents may drop their candy as is into our bins at the school. However if preparing your own care packages please see information below. Please also look closely at the do's and don'ts to see what is accepted.
If you are planning on preparing packages for the Operation Gratitude Project. Please see directions below from their website. If any of our parents would like to earn their volunteers hours for this semester. We will need volunteers to pack up boxes, label and drop off at a local UPS store.
We will fill out the online form as an organization. No need for donors to fill out the form.
No boxes larger than 24″x 24″x 20″ or weighing more than 35 lb. (weight can harm candy in transit).
DON’T send Pixy Stix (or other powdery candy). They make a mess inside the Care Packages.
DON’T sort your candy. We want to make sure our Troops, Veterans and First Responders get a variety of treats in each Care Package.
DO line your boxes with big plastic bags to safely ship loose candy, or place the candy into zip-close bags.
DO separate candy from other donated items (dental floss, travel toothpaste (1 oz), pens and mechanical pencils).
DO separate hand-written thank you letters from candy to ensure they are not ruined in shipment (place in an envelope or separate plastic bag).
In addition to our beautiful families please note that you may drop your candy in our bins at drop off or pick up. Scheduled drop off time is for the community only. As posted in the Sandbox portal please be aware of community members dropping off candy. If asked kindly ask them to place candy or care packages into the drop bins out front. Do not let anyone inside the building and they should not need to ring the doorbell or pull teachers for any reason. Please also be aware that the door always closes behind you. Thank you for keeping us safe as we support this wonderful cause!
Calling on our Tribe!
Volunteers and Donations:
***Looking for handyman to put together a patio storage bench for us! We will be using it for storage of all of our garden tools. Let us know if you can help.
We would love a volunteer to paint our wooden tables that were upcycled from electrical wire. Volunteer would paint with an outdoor paint that includes primer, lime green and aqua) as well as apply a clear coat!
Our adorable garden houses are in need of some repair. We would like to replace some parts with more sustainable materials. When designed and built by the company it seems that the wood was not sustainable enough for Florida weather especially the moisture. If you could help us with the repairs we are need of assistance as soon as possible. Also if you have ideas of what materials would be cost effective and also will hold up please reach out. The porch areas and the molding are the areas that need repair first. See photo below.
See photos of fun take home projects that we would love to add to our environment!

Thank you to everyone who supported our 4 The ❤️ Of Pets supply drive for Satchel’s Rescue. We dropped off supplies on Saturday to the grateful Satchel’s staff. They were so excited for the homemade pet treats and said they would pass out to the pups right away!!! They loved the toys that students made as well. Did you know they have over 100 dogs and 50 cats at the shelter right now? If you have room in your home and heart we encourage you to adopt and rescue an animal in need. #rescue#rehab#rehome
