In The Hall Of The Mountain King
The song so commonly known as "In The Hall of The Mountain King" was made by Norwegian Composer Edvard Grieg as a song for a play. The play was known as "Peer Gynt". It is very recognisable due to its wide use. Though the english name is not right. Its name actually means female goblin and part of its name is named after a mountainous region in Norway. Its Norwegian name is,"I Dovregubbens hall". Dovre a mountainous region in Norway and gubbe translate to old husband or man. Gubbe can also be translated to female troll, which is what the song is about, a boy was trying to steal a bride when he tripped and fell and hit his head on a rock. Later the boy woke up and say that he was on Dovre. He walked into the troll's cave, at the time he did not know this. The trolls teased him and the farther he walked in, the louder the teasing got, shown in the song throughout. At the end, in the song and in the play, the boy escapes with the help of the troll king's' daughter. During the song, it gets repeatedly faster and faster as the boy walked in the hall to get away from the trolls.
Jayda Hett
I am 13 year old girl born and raised in Fargo, North Dakota. I stand at about 5' 2" and weigh only about 101 lbs. I love to play soccer and play with my 1 1/2 year old brother. I am in track and play soccer during the summer. I also love to paint and draw. My favorite thing to draw/paint is flags and eyes. I have been told that I am quite good at drawing eyes, better than most people. I play the bassoon. I also have ADHD, also known as Attention Deficit HyperActivity Disorder. I was diagnosed when I was five. I also have to wear glasses due to my left eye muscle not being able to hold focus and being too weak to send pictures to the optic nerve. I also have a 17 year old step-sister who goes to school in Moorhead. She is quite tall, standing straight she is at about 5' 11".
Arranger: Roy D. Johnson
I could not find a lot on him except that he also was the arranger for songs like,"A Little March", the happy farmer, and Elegy. He also(since I put him in here.) was the arranger for, "In The Hall of The Mountain King."

Reflection
I thought this assignment was really fun due to us having to do all the work and having to research everything. I also thought that it was cool having to play something that we got to pick, not something that was assigned to us. It was really fun playing a song that a lot of people know and like.
