The mission of Coleman Middle School is to provide students with rigorous and innovative learning opportunities using Project / Problem Based Learning (PBL) which promote collaboration, critical thinking, community, and creativity.

Can you help in the media center?
The Coleman Library Media Center is looking for a dedicated volunteer to volunteer every Monday morning from 8:50am until about 11 or 11:30am. Duties would include manning the circulation desk, checking in books and shelving books. Please send an email to our media specialist Kathy Schmidt if interested.

Join us for Coleman’s Annual Summer Field Trip!!
This year our annual summer field trip is to Washington D.C. (May 31- June 4, 2020). Come have fun with your friends while visiting one of the most important cities in the United States. You will see history come alive, go white water rafting, and experience the Vietnam Memorial, MLK Memorial, Holocaust Museum, Smithsonian, 9/11 Memorial, and more!
Our first informational meeting is Wednesday, October 2nd from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. in the CMS Media Center. Parents must attend this meeting. See Ms. Jones or Dr. DeMent for more information.

Coleman Middle School will be hosting our first quarter PBL (Problem Based Learning) showcases at the beginning of October. Our students would appreciate your input and feedback on their final prototypes and projects on the dates and times listed below. Feel free to invite any of your colleagues to attend our events. I have included the grade level driving question along with the dates and times. Please follow the link below for the Google form to sign-up for the showcase prior to attending (this makes check-in move quickly).
We will be hosting an "Everything You Need to Know" about a showcase for 6th grade guests prior to the 6th grade showcase on October 2nd at 9:30 in the Coleman Media Center. Please attend if this is your first time coming to a showcase or if you just want to know how to give meaningful feedback to our students.
8th grade Driving Question:

This award-winning event is in Parson's Alley on October 1st from 6-8pm as students from the Duluth school cluster showcase their project-based learning projects. Students will show off their real-world applications, investigations and more!
