Tricks and Treats at SEM!
We had a wonderful time concluding Red Ribbon Week with our Halloween festivities! Our class took part in the school parade in the morning and had a fantastic afternoon party. Big thanks to Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Springer for coordinating the party and putting so much time and effort into making the day special for our class. Thank you to the many parents who attended our party and celebrated with us! Hope everyone had a "spooktacular" Halloween weekend.
Opportunity to Meet Some Rockstar Authors & Illustrators
This Saturday, November 7th, Long Island educators (and many traveling from nearby states!) will come together to celebrate literacy. There will be a chance for students to attend, too! nErD Camp LI will take place at Willets School in Roslyn Heights, NY. From 2:30-3:30, there will be an author and illustrator meet and greet and a chance to get your books signed. Lynda Mullaly Hunt, the author of Fish in a Tree (the book our class is currently reading aloud) will be there! I am attending and would love to see some of my students. If you do attend, please note that this is not a Farmingdale schools event and you will be responsible for supervising your child at all times. If you have any questions, let me know! #GRAK15- Random Acts of Kindness
We are reading Fish in a Tree for the Global Read Aloud. Last week, all of the students participating in the Global Read Aloud took some time to celebrate kindness. Our class glued quotes about kindness on hearts we decorated and we hung them around the school so that kindness could spread like glitter! (To paraphrase R.J. Palacio of Wonder). It was a great way to celebrate #DALERkind.
