Do You Plicker? Say What?

Plickers is a powerful tool that lets teachers collect real-time assessment data WITHOUT the need for student devices. All that's needed is one device for the teacher and a class set of plicker cards which are free!

Use Plickers for quick checks to know whether your students are understanding key concepts and mastering skills; use them for pre-assessment, surveys, or exit tickets!

Plickers is a great student response system that provides valuable assessment data.

Another Fun Student Response System - Socrative!

Socrative empowers you to engage and assess your students as learning happens. Through the use of real-time questioning, results, and visualization, you get instant insight into your students' levels of understanding. You create a room for your students to join to take your assessment in the form of quizzes or even a racing game. The interaction can be self-paced or teacher-paced; students enjoy both interfaces.

You do need teacher and student devices which can be desktop computers, laptops, tablets, or phones.

If you like Kahoot - you'll like Socrative!

FYI - it's pronounced "SO-crative."

Kahoot - Make Learning Awesome!

Kahoot is another student response system that I introduced last school year, and it has quickly become a favorite of teachers and students at Hermes/Intermediate.

But for those of you who are not familiar with Kahoots, they are fun learning games best played in a group setting, like a classroom. Players answer on their own devices, while games are displayed on a shared screen. Kahoot competition can even occur between classrooms by using Google Hangouts!

A variety of devices can be utilized from phones to laptops!
