Cell Organelles
BY BRYCE LACKEY
Cell Theory
-All Cells Come from other cells.
-Cells are the basic unit of life.
-All living things are made of cells.
Eukaryote
These cells contain a Nucleus and organelles. More Complex.
<------------------------>
Prokaryote
These are the much simpler cells that contain no organelles and have their DNA free in their cytoplasm
HERE ARE THE ORGANELLES OF THE EUKARYOTIC CELLS
Nucleus
Like the City Hall or mayor. Controls all activities of the cell.
Nucleolus
This is inside of the Nucleus, it holds the deoxyribonucleic acid.
Mitochondria
This is were the MAGIC happens! This little puppy makes proteins for the cells.
Vacuole
Although present in both plant and animal cells, they are best known in the plant cell. This is like a storehouse for they cell, because it holds waste, water, and food.
Endoplasmic Reticulum
This bad boy is what transports the proteins from the ribosomes on the rough endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi Apparatus.
Golgi Apparatus
This is where the other magic happens... This is where proteins and other nutrients get packed up and ready for use.
Lysosomes
This is where the not so magic happens... This is where wastes are broken down and shot out through the cell membrane in to the water or surrounding area.
Cell Membrane
The cell membrane controls what can come in and go out of the cell.
Cell Wall
An exclusive to the plant cell, This protects the cell and helps to keep the structure.
Chloroplast
This is where the Solar Magic, oh never mind, This is where plants convert water and sunlight in to Glucose in a process called photosynthesis.
This Is where you can learn more about CELLS!
This is a nice web site with plenty of info.
