Board Adopts 2018-2019 School Year Budget
The Methacton School District Board of School Directors voted to adopt a final budget of $109,398,167 for the 2018-2019 school year during a special meeting of the Board on June 19, 2018. The proposed budget includes a 1.99% tax increase, which equates to an increase of .5863 mills, resulting in a proposed millage rate of 30.0431.
A resident whose home is valued at the average residential assessment of $173,660 would see a $101.82 increase in real estate taxes, resulting in a 2018-2019 tax bill of $5,217.28.

Methacton Education Foundation Grants the District Over $39,000

The funds include a grant of $3,150 to for the Methacton High School JV History Club, $3,125 for the MHS Electric Car Club, $15,850 for the purchase of a replacement simulator for the driver's education program at MHS, and music technology equipment valued at $20,155.01 for the MHS music department.
The Meetings in Review
Methacton High School (MHS) Physics Teacher and Science Research Coordinator Bob Helm presented "M" awards to MHS students for excellence in STEM science research during the 2017-2018 school year.
The following MHS students were recognized: Freshman Daniel Abraham, Senior William Chen, Junior Jonathan Cheng, Senior Ananth Dandibhotla, Sophomore Shrinidhi Dandibhotla, Junior Saket Gokhale, Senior Satvik Kakkar, Junior Angie Kuang, Sophomore Karen Li, Junior Amy Ouyang, Junior Ishaan Patel, Sophomore Sherya Patel, Junior Tulsi Patel, Senior Jason Qiu, Freshman Allison Reed, Senior Achyut Reddy, Junior Harsha Santhanam, Sophomore Claire Tse, Sophomore Arushi Tiwari, Junior Neha Vagvala, Junior Rebekah Varghese, Senior Jeremy Wang, Senior Michael Wang, Senior Karthik Yegnesh, and Junior Adam Zhang. These students achieved fantastic success in science research competitions throughout the school year, with many competing not only at the local level, but regional, state, and even international level competitions.
