Latin Pop refers to pop music that contains sound or influence from Latin America but it can also mean pop music from anywhere in the Spanish-speaking world. Latin pop is commonly associated with Spanish language pop, rock, and dance music.

History of Pop Music

Before the arrival of artists like Shakira, Ricky Martin, and Enrique Iglesias, Latin music became the most popular form of Latin Music in the U.S. during the 1980s and 1990s, even achieving massive crossover success among non-Latino listeners during the late 1990s. Some musical influences to latin pop are freestyle or club-oriented dance music.

In latin pop music, the voice is mainly the dominant instrument but other instruments include the guitar, bass guitar, drums, and keyboard. Pop music can be associated with any kind of fun, up-beat activity because that is what latin pop music is. Some famous artists that are associated with this music are Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, and Ricky Martin.

There are no specific dances related to latin pop music, because with this genre, you can dance any way you want. This music genre is so up-beat and fast that you can have a great time dancing however you like.
