FBMS' Plan for Remote Learning
FBMS has always firmly believed that educating the 'whole child' must be at the forefront of teaching middle school students. I often say that we can't teach a child two-step math equations if they haven't had any food and how can we teach them about theme in a novel if they are in the middle of an anxiety attack? Nothing can be more true now as we end our third week of school closure due to COVID-19. We want to be sure that our students social emotional needs are being met.
Thank you for patience as we work to create a plan that we feel is best for our students and their families as well as our staff. As always, we are here to help and support your children and you. Please email the member of the FBMS team if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Maureen Kemmett
FBMS Family Check-In Survey
I have been doing daily check-ins with the FBMS staff. Today I decided that it might be a good time to check in with our families. I have heard from a number of you in a variety of ways, but wanted to offer an easy way for you to communicate with me. I will be keeping all responses confidential unless your response warrants me contacting someone else. Click on the image below to take the survey.
We are busy at work planning the next steps in remote learning for our students, staff, and parents. Please know my consistent message mirrors Superintendent Granatino's, that our students' and their families', our staff and their families, and our community's physical and emotional needs are far more important than any assignment or grade. I plan to send a similar survey in a few weeks to do another check in. In the meantime, all of FBMS staff are working remotely and can be of assistance if you need anything.
