CUB PAWS and Principal of the Day!
Hello, has your child been talking about Cub Paws? All of our staff members have Cub Paws, and on them, our school motto is being Respectful towards Self, Others, Community, and Environment. When a student demonstrates one of these actions, a staff member may give them a Cub Paw. Students then enter it into an end-of-the-month drawing to be “Principal for the Day.” (A student from each grade level will be chosen every month).
Our first drawing will be next Wednesday and then on Thursday, I will have 3 assistant principals helping me throughout the day and walking down to the coffee shop for a special drink.

Dear Parent/Guardian, September 7, 2023
Our first ALICE drill will occur on Wednesday, September 13th, from 8:45-9:00 am. Our Safe Meeting Place is located at the Crawford Town hall 425, Highway 92, Crawford. If we had anny sort of emergency, this is where you would pick up your child. (ex gas leak, fire, etc)
Please note this drill will be a positive experience and age-appropriate. The book, I’m Not Scared, I’m Prepared!, because I know all about ALICE, by Julia Cook will be read to all primary and lower el students. The upper el classroom will be given information and scenarios in a non-threatening way.
A.L.I.C.E
(ALERT, LOCKDOWN, INFORM, COUNTER, EVACUATE)
Delta County School District, along with districts across our area, state, and nation, have adopted the ALICE model. ALICE is an acronym that stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate. This model is a proactive approach that empowers individuals to respond based on information that is available to them – it includes the ability to evacuate if the option is available.
ALERT – Get the word out! Use clear, concise language to convent the type and location of the event.
LOCKDOWN – We will continue to lock down students and staff in a secure area; however, we will include barricading the area for additional security and buying time to determine an action plan.
INFORM - Communication keeps our staff and administration informed about what’s happening and allows for better decision-making. It can also keep the intruder off balance.
COUNTER – Apply skills to distract, confuse and possibly gain control over the intruder.
EVACUATE – As soon as it is safe to do, evacuate.
Feel free to contact me with any questions,
