Westridge Family Notes
Westridge Elementary School | August 27, 2021
We had a wonderful three days of school!
The Westridge Way
Our classrooms are well underway with teaching our school-wide behavior expectations using our PBIS framework! Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) is a proactive system approach to help school staff and families create and maintain a safe, supportive, learning environment, promote positive life skills, and reduce negative behaviors so that all children can succeed in school.
At Westridge, we follow The Westridge Way, which is to Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. We teach these expectations to all of our students, and we recognize students who meet them. These expectations are the same for students in all areas of our school, including the playground, the lunchroom, the classroom, and on the bus.
We hope that you will join us in teaching our students positive behaviors by discussing and reinforcing The Westridge Way at home. For example, you can ask them what it looks like to be respectful in the hallway, or what it looks like to be responsible in the lunchroom.
Thank you for your continued support to ensure a safe, fun, and positive learning environment for all of our students at Westridge Elementary School! We will continue to share PBIS updates and tips in the newsletter throughout the school year.
