Principal's Message
Welcome to our Week 4 newsletter. Our students and staff are all working hard and I am very proud to see all of the fantastic learning taking place in our classrooms.
New newsletter format
We are very excited to share our new newsletter format with everyone. Please check out our Facebook page, Skool Bag app or school website to see our wonderful new format. Our students and teachers are passionate about making a difference to the environment. We are hoping that our new electronic format of the newsletter will help to save our trees as well as providing parents and carers with a modern and colourful online newsletter. Of course, if you do not have access to the internet you are able to advise us and we will provide you with a paper copy of our newsletter. Thank you for supporting our efforts to become more sustainable.
Staffing update
Mrs Khoury has had to take maternity leave earlier than expected due to illness. We wish Mrs Khoury well and will let you know when baby Khoury arrives. Thank you to Mr Lucic who has happily stepped in to take over the role of classroom teacher in 4/5 Ravens. Mr Lucic has been very impressed with the standard of work and behaviour in the Ravens.
Congratulations
We are very excited to announce the safe arrival of baby Garland. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Garland on the birth of beautiful Leo Garland who was born on Friday last week. We cant wait to meet him.
Swim Scheme
A big thank you to Miss Sladek and Ms Ross for coordinating our swim scheme this year and escorting our students to the pool each day. Our students are fortunate to have dedicated teachers who volunteer for additional programs such as this.
Thank you
Thank you to staff at Lurnea high for welcoming some of our Stage 3 boys to learn about high school. The boys were accompanied by Mrs LLoyd and Mrs Heidi Finnerty and they engaged in a woodwork and gym lesson.
Canteen
The current licence agreement for our school canteen is coming to an end. After consultation with our P&C, the school will be seeking public tenders though advertisement in local papers over the coming weeks.
Have a wonderful week and don't forget to ask your child what they are learning.

Breakfast Club
Classroom Chat with 3 Jellyfish
3 Jellyfish have been working hard so far this term. We enjoyed building our sculpture for Education Week, and have been developing our gymnastics skills.
We have also been engaging with our Fairy and Dragon Door activities, working hard to further develop our phonic knowledge. Our TOWN activities are also going well, and we are SUPER STARS at using the jump strategy to solve addition and subtraction problems.
Classroom Chat with 1/2 Macaws
1/2 Macaws have had a busy start to term 3!
We have been very busy creating our Gingerbread Man sculptures for Education Week. We were very excited to walk around and view all our friends’ sculptures that they had worked so hard on!
During our science topic we have been learning about living and non-living things. This has made us very excited for our up and coming excursion to Featherdale Wildlife Park in Week 8. As a class we have been looking at the Park map and discussing the animal we are most eager to see, ours is the Dingo!
Book Character Parade - Save the date
Start thinking of a great costume.
