Nurture. Collaborate. Own

Scarborough's Summary

It was so wonderful to see the SUN this week! A big thank you again to Shirley and Katie for kicking off our United Way Campaign! The pet pictures are so cute!

As we go into the weekend, I want to thank everyone for their hard work. The A team and I have been looking at initial DA results and I think overall we are going to be pleased with how our students are performing compared to our cluster and the county. We will be sharing those results with you towards the end of the month, once the testing window closes. i look forward to seeing our students continued growth.

Reminder- I am monitoring teacher attendance closely (especially Friday absences).

Counselors' Corner

Career on Wheels is scheduled for March 29. If you have any contacts, please email me their names and telephone numbers.

Boxes for Great Days of Service, will be located in front of the transportation office. If anyone lives near the ISC building and is available to take and drop off the donations, please let me know.

I will be doing K-5 Specials until Marsha returns on Oct. 26.

Custodian Closet

Please do not allow student to take ice cream or blue ice from the Cafeteria.

The Custodial Department supplies a bottle of Vindicator (kills germs) should you bottle become empty because you have been spraying down your student desks and other surfaces where student place their hands. Simply place your bottle outside your door in the hallway, one of my staff will pick it up, refill and return it to you. No fear that it will not be returned because your room number is located on the bottle making the bottle reusable year after year. Should you have a bottle other than yours please leave it outside my office located at 3.1.128 and I will return it to the owner. Should you be missing a bottle send Pat Brown an email and she will get one delivered.

Technology Tips

Let's get this party started! Our kids need to interact with the c & I tool more often. Below you will find a few tips that will engage your students.

Have student log in to the tool in order to access our school's Symbaloo/student links.

Make a discussion post part of your Morning work, Reading or Math Workshop.

When you bring students to the lab, use the checklist feature to ensure task completion.

Embed links into your page for student ease and safety!

Post homework assignments on your page, no copies!

Schedule a modeled lesson session with Dynamic aka Adrienne or Wendy !

Coaches' corner

Engage students daily in discussions of math reasoning. Make "Why?" "How do you know?" and "Can you explain?" classroom mantras.
