A Message From The Art Room
Dear Clear Creek Families,
Being the CCE Art Educator is the greatest joy and I am excited that next year I have an opportunity to team with Jill Hanson to job share the art role! I will teach 3rd, 4th and 5th grade art and the kindergarten classes that have specials in the morning, while Mrs. Hanson will teach 1st, 2nd, and kindergarten classes that come in the afternoon. We did this in the past and we found so much synergy and energy in planning lessons and serving children together. Working part time also allows us life/work balance for important things outside of school. We are excited to again have this opportunity and hope it will bring more to the Art Educator role than any one person could do on their own. Thank you for your continued support of our school, our young artists, and us as art teachers!
Much Love,
Mrs. Clark
5th Grade Lego Robotics Coach Needed!
Mr. Whalen is looking for someone he can assist in leading the FLL Robotics team this year.
This adult should be comfortable with helping kids solve problems and work together.
No coding experience required!
They would need to dedicate an hour at least twice a week and a few Saturday mornings.
Also, their child is guaranteed a spot on the team!
Please contact Craig Whalen if you are interested.
Foolish for Flood Relief Update
On Monday, April 1st, CCE students were invited to wear a crazy hat or have a crazy hair-do to raise money for flood relief in areas affected by the flooding of the Missouri River. We raised almost $400 that day! After speaking to the principal of Rushville Elementary School, in Rushville, Missouri, we learned that students in their school had to relocate because of the flooding and some were driving over 200 miles EVERY DAY to get their students to and from school. We learned that their school lunch accounts were running low, and that they could use help to buy gasoline for all the additional travel they had to do because of the flood. Upon learning of these needs, the staff of CCE raised even more money to help these people.
Clear Creek Elementary raised $1,000 to help the flood victims in Rushville, Missouri! When we called to share the new total with the principal, she was OVERWHELMED at our generosity! So many families will be able to be helped with this money!
Today, CCE made a difference in the lives of strangers in need! Way to go Eagles!
Note From Our Counselor
Hello from the counseling office at CCE!
If you missed the mom squad breakfast this morning, I wanted to send the information I shared about anxiety and some tools to help kids worry less that can be a big relief for parents.
We used the 5 techniques below to guide our learning. Click on the links below to get the full resource and learn more. Modeling and practicing these ideas can lead your child and your whole family to greater peace.
1. Breathing with them.
2. Helping children get rid of ANTS (Automatic Negative Thoughts)
3. Using exposure strategies
4. Guiding the child with calming visualizations.
5. Encouraging the child to make a "things that went right today"
