GREEN PARTICIPATES IN THE PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION LEADERSHIP SUMMIT- Next Generation Leaders Envision your Future
Beech Grove Middle School 7th grader, Gregory Green was invited to be a part of the Envision Impact Series: Presidential Inauguration Leadership Summit 2017. Gregory spent five amazing days in the nation’s capital exploring the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum and several other wonderful monuments and sights. This program was inspired by the Inauguration. The Summit Delegates are in grades 6th through 8th and work together to discover local, national, and global solutions to the challenges of their generation and the challenges our President will face.
Gregory attended several workshops, and summit meetings, including motivational presentations from guest speakers such as General Collin Powell, famous soccer player, Abby Whambach and Spike Lee. These guest speakers spoke to the summit kids on how to achieve success. The delegates broke into groups and were responsible for an impactful project at the end of the week. Gregory's group did a project on the key to opening the door to equal education for all and his group won! They did their presentation in front of 250 middle school students from around the world.
On Friday, all of the delegates attended the Inauguration.
Gregory is pictured below all dressed up in the tuxedo he wore when he attended the inaugural balls!
Congratulations, Gregory!

Our Gold-Rated Choirs!
From Mr. Dean . . .
"On Saturday, January 28, students of the BGHS choirs performed 27 solos and in six ensembles. After weeks of personal and group preparation, 18 of our solo singers and four ensembles have qualified and advanced to the State solo & Ensemble Festival, which will be held in three weeks at Perry Meridian High School.
The amount of growth by our students is massive. Last year we were able to advance seven soloists, but none of our ensembles were able to achieve Gold ratings in Group I. I cannot express how enjoyable this year has been to work with these students. They truly desire to become better singers and musicians, with these results providing all of the evidence.
Congratulations to all of our choral students on your Gold-rated achievements!"
