The Giving Tree Selected for Give BIG Green Bay
We are excited to announce that The Giving Tree has been selected as one of the 45 local nonprofits that will benefit from Give BIG Green Bay 2023!
From noon to noon on February 21 and 22, donations to The Giving Tree will be accepted. Over the past five years, Give BIG Green Bay has raised $8 million for local nonprofits. In 2022 alone, nearly $2.5 million was gifted to 45 nonprofit organizations. The Giving Tree is thrilled to have been selected to build upon this community-wide success.
Your donations to The Giving Tree through Give BIG Green Bay will support the families in our community who utilize this service, specifically through pantry dates, the Back-to-School event, and the Holiday Store. Know that your gift improves the lives of our students, in turn benefitting the future of our community.
Click here to donate from February 21-22.

Building Your Sources of Strength
Mentors
A mentor is someone who helps guide, advise, and teach you through a situation, and help you achieve your goals. Having a mentor builds our strengths through increased self confidence, learning, and connection. For students, this can impact their attendance, their attitude towards school, and their overall relationships. As we start a new year, how can we focus on building mentors for our students?
Ask your child the following:
Who helps you with making good decisions?
How does this person help you build on your strengths?
What is something you want to learn or get better at? Is there someone you know that can help you?

Bay Port Boys Swim Team Earns Four-Year Unbeaten Streak
Congratulations to head coach Jim Schilz and the Bay Port boys swim team on another undefeated Fox River Classic Conference regular season. The six-member senior class has recorded a perfect 22-0 record in FRCC competition during their high school careers. Next up for the Pirates in the pool: defending the team's winning streak of six straight FRCC championships at the conference meet February 4 at Ashwaubenon.
Ta’Leah VanSistine, Bay Port Class of 2018, was named winner of UW-Eau Claire’s prestigious Ann Devroy Fellowship in journalism in May 2021. VanSistine spent three weeks in residence at the Washington Post in Washington, D.C. last summer and earned two bylines in the national publication on her primary subject of interest: environmental reporting.
VanSistine credits her high school newspaper advisor, Krista Greene, for inspiring her to pursue her passion for journalism. “At Bay Port I learned that everybody has a story and some aspect of each of our lives is a story worthy of being told,” said VanSistine.
VanSistine graduated from UW-Eau Claire in May 2022 where she also reported for the campus radio station in addition to serving on the staff of the school paper. She is currently a freelance journalist based in Clearwater, Florida.
