Volleyball Tournament

Last March, The Junior Class and the students travelling to Spain collaborated to put together a successful co-ed volleyball tournament. 9 students teams and 3 faculty teams competed in a double-elimination tournament. The tournament helped to raise almost $1000 to help the junior Class as well as to defray the cost of the Spain trip. Competition was high and intense but the last teams standing were faculty teams. The Hit Squad led by Brandon Ito took home the title after coming through the losers bracket to win the Championship. His team consisting of Amber Miller, Matt Crombie, Bridget Dullea, John Cross, Nicole Kadey and Brian Breau followed the mantra of “survive and advance.” They were able to defeat Da Bombers captioned by Brian Donnelly. The 2nd place team consisted of Kailey Jasper, Alba Guzmán, Kevin Szulak and Jeff Beck, with some help from the Volleyball Coach Christie Scott. We would like to thank the parents who helped by selling refreshments, the students who volunteered to ref and keep score, and to all those who participated and attended. We hope to make this an annual event. Señor Nickerson would also like to thank the Junior Class Officers who helped to organize and run this tournament. Without their hard work, this event would not have been such a success.

March Madness Basketball Tournament

Mr Sullivan Repeated as the champion of the 3on3 march madness tournament once again. His team was comprised of Seniors Bobby Gioiosa and Julia Duplin, Sophomores Jake Polino and Vinny Harrison. The team was undefeated rolling to a second championship for Mr Sullivan. Harrison and Polino controlled the play and Duplin and Gioiosa added their hard work and lots of rebounds. Barring any injury Sullivan looks to be the early favorite to repeat in 2017. When asked for comment the normally reserved Sullivan said “ The team play hard and we dominated from the opening whistle till the last basket. I am very proud of what this team accomplished. As long as we don’t run into any salary-cap trouble in the offseason I see no reason we can not make a run for the next 2-3 years or until these kids graduate."
