Jag Families,

We are a couple of days away from the start of the 2020-2021 school year. I wanted to take a minute and thank you for all that you do for your child and the success of Sartartia Middle School. This school year is starting different, in fact, I don’t know another year that has ever started this way. However, we are ready and cannot wait to begin! This is an opportunity to learn and grow. We will start this year navigating on-line learning and seeing all that we can achieve. As excited as we are about the possibilities and being open to what it can bring, we realize that it is also challenging for many parents and students.

We are committed to supporting you as we reimagine the educational learning experience at Sartartia Middle School. The first day of school is this Monday, August 17, but it will look different, and we recognize that with this new way of learning things may not always go as planned.

We know that there may be questions you will have regarding online learning as school starts. Our first priority is to make sure that every student is able to login and enter their virtual class on the first day of school at 9:00am. In order to support our families and address these concerns, our campus has put the following plan in place for Monday morning so that we can respond to the questions or issues that you may be experiencing.

We anticipate a high call volume on campus. To minimize wait time, we have multiple phone lines for you to call for support based on the last letter of your student’s name.

In addition to phone lines, staff members will be available via Zoom to assist parents as needed. Click on the following link any time from 8:30am -10:30am Monday morning. You will enter a virtual waiting room until a staff member admits you to the Zoom meeting. At that point, someone will be there to provide assistance.

Help us to decorate the neighborhood at our 2nd Annual Chalk the Walk. Join us in writing positive and encouraging messages on your driveways and sidewalks as we welcome back our students for the 2020-21 school year.

We acknowledge there may be set backs and technical issues, but we are committed to working through this with you. Together we can do it! Thank you for your continued support and grace as we prepare for a successful start of the 2020-2021 school year.

I have also included a step by step guide attached to this email to assist in the initial login process. Your student’s 1st Period class will be held in TEAMS. The document explains how to locate that class meeting.

We recommend that you watch it more than once to assist you with meeting your teachers on August 17th.
