Our Star Achievers this Week
A word from Mr Broom.
Book week has been a blast. Firstly, thank you to everyone who came to our Story Evening on Wednesday. I was gutted to miss out as the GDPR (Data Protection ) training was rescheduled for the same night. However, I hear that Miss Mackay and our wonderful team of staff did a fabulous job in my absence.
Meanwhile in school, we've had lots of prospective teachers come for a look around school, showing their interest in the new teacher post we have advertised for September. It's also been our lesson observations week and I'm delighted to say that our children are making great progress in lots of areas. I'm sure you will be pleased to see how hard they have all been working next week in our parent/carer consultations.
Site Manager/Sports Leader Appointment
In addition, he will also take on the role of Sports & Wellbeing Leader. This means you are likely to see him on a morning, leading a beginning of the day exercise routine and the other part of his role will be leading lunchtime and after-school sports clubs & events. I'm sure you will make him feel most welcome.

Attendance
Congratulations to our Year 5 children who are our attendance champions in school this week with 98.1%.
As you can see below, our attendance in most classes is above the national average which is fantastic. Thank you for your support on this.
We have a small number of children whose attendance is well below the national expectations. These children are known as persistently absent when their attendance falls below 90%. I will be making telephone calls to parents of these children.
Thank you for your continued support with our attendance drive. It is really appreciated.
