Mrs. Ramlow what type of conflict is this story?
The type of conflict for this story is Man vs. Man. It's Man vs. Man because the Mogadoriens are hunting for the nine Lorien children. While the kids are developing their powers, the Mogadorians are hunting them. When the nine children all meet up, they will have a huge war with the Mogadoriens. "The Mogadoriens will be here any minute, ready to attack!"
The Main Characters:
John Smith (Number 4)
He is the fourth child sent from Lorien to develop his powers. Eventually he will have to fight the Mogadoriens. (Courageous, Strong, Understanding)

Sent from Lorien to protect John. He has no way to defend himself, because he has no special powers. He is disguised as John's father. (Hard-working, Patient, Smart)

She is John's love interest in this story. She sees John as a normal human being. John saves her using his superpowers, which he has to explain to her how he saved her. (Friendly, Trustworthy, Kind)
Where does this story take place?
The setting of this story is Paradise, Ohio. A small town. They wanted to live in a small town to stay away from the Mogadoriens. Living in a big town didn't go so well. So they fled to this town.
Precept:
"You are braver than you believe, stronger then you seem, and smarter than you look." I chose this quote because it describes John Smith perfectly. He believes he will never gain any powers.
Whats this story about?
The main theme for the story is to never give up. Henri never gives up on teaching John about his super powers. John never gave up during the war, even though he knew he didn't have a chance.
