Dear Excellent Dealey Families,

We are so excited to welcome our students back to school. Our staff has done an amazing job preparing our environment for our kids. We hope that every child feels our love and excitement as they step through our doors on Monday.

As we start the 21-22 school year, we are not where we had hoped to be with Dallas County in the Covid threat level of Red, so we have had to make a few adjustments. Please read carefully the Covid updates below. I am so grateful to have a community that lives our Core Values of Respect and Responsibility because I know that we will work together to ensure that all Dragons feel safe and welcome on our campus.

Orchestra Sign-up Form 2021-22

Please fill out this form if your child is interested in participating in Orchestra for the 2021-22. There is a $25 rental fee plus materials cost which will be collected later. There are scholarships available ensuring that everyone who wants to participate can. Your child does not have to have any prior experience. Keep an eye out for an email regarding parent clinics for new Lower Elementary students and student clinics for new 4-6 students. Private lessons are highly encouraged.

COVID Updates

We continue to prioritize safety. Here is detailed in our Nurse’s bulletin. Here are some highlights.

• Masks- The district has mandated masks on all Dallas ISD property

• Hygiene- We will continue to practice handwashing, surface cleaning and spraying.

• Social distancing (3 ft)- Teachers will keep seating charts.

• Symptom screening- Please don’t come to school with symptoms.

• Quarantine- The district will publish this information. For immediate questions, please contact Nurse Dunlap.

• Instruction- Per district guidance, during quarantine "Students will have a playlist of grade appropriate instructional activities. Teachers will post office hours to support the students (highly encouraged that these are during the school day)

• Visitors- No outside visitors will be permitted on campus.

Plexiglass is not part of our protocols at this time. We don’t have a supply, but if we determine we need plexiglass, we will work with the district to order it.
