Day 4 Highlights
Morning Meeting
In this morning's group meeting we learned about the states of matter. We analyzed which items would float and sink in a bucket of water. Then, we added water and glycerin to a water bottle to make sensory water bottles. We allowed students to fill their bottles with different objects to watch them float. Food coloring and Alka Seltzer to the bottles to observe physical and chemical changes! We danced to a song about the different states of matter and we listened to a book called Ava Twist Scientist by Andrea Beaty to learn about asking questions and posing hypothesis. We made different folds and twists to shirts for tie dying, made cups with our Cricut, made music with bananas and Makey Makey, had balloon rocket races, and made slime!
Afternoon Session
This afternoon, we had our WATER DAY! We experienced the liquid state of water with water games, the physical changes of matter with tie dye, and the solid state of water with ice excavation. We also played with glitter chalk and water guns!
