October 10, 2019
I hope you have had a great week! My Carter celebrates his 8th birthday tomorrow, so we are excited for a weekend all about him. We are probably headed to the state fair too.
We are well into October and this feels something like the 3rd day of Disney, right? You probably remember the image from Academy of my poor, exhausted kids...excited to be in Disney, but REALLY needing a break. That's how many of us feel. So happy to be here, but wow...kinda tired.
Let's spice up the rest of October with some fun! See the calendar below for all the Fall happiness. Wear jeans any day your participate.
Remember to sign up for the tailgate pot-luck tomorrow.
The PD schedule for Monday is below. Let me know if you have questions.
No faculty meeting next Wednesday.
Have a wonderful Friday and a happy weekend.

I just wanted to send a quick email to say bravo on the concert tonight. I also wanted to brag on your beginner students. There was a small group of beginners behind us. They were quiet the entire time, I didn’t hear a peep out of them. The behaved better than most high school students I’ve observed. I was very impressed. Keep up the good work.

Watz is an incredible addition to our CMS team! She is fantastic about sticking with the schedule she created and ensures every student on her roster gets the help they need each week. Additionally, she goes above and beyond to make sure that she is helping her kiddos in the right way. For example, she keeps up with her own model journal and sits in on small group sessions, just to make sure that she is on the right track herself! I know I can fully trust her to meet the needs of my students. I (not-so-secretly) wish I could have her in my room all of the time! -Alisha
Mrs. Fox,
Thank you again for sharing this awesome news! We are very proud of our son and appreciate your recognition and reinforcement of good character traits. We are so pleased he has been in your theatre classes these two years!!
Wishing you a great weekend,

Good evening Coach Wandersee and Coach Matte,
We wanted to send you a quick note of thanks to you for creating this amazing opportunity for the girls! We know this took a great deal of influence, coordination, trust in the team (and even more patience) to take it to this level and we thank you deeply for that. Our daughter had an amazing time and we love to see her thrive.
Your leadership of the cheer team is obvious and we truly appreciate how you are not just creating a team of cheerleaders but also a large group of young ladies who are growing and learning how to be disciplined, show confidence, and respect others. Simply, thank you.

I want to send out “Kuddos” to the football coaches. One student was being a pill in my class and thanks to Football and the coaches’ proactive approach he has turned himself around and is doing so much better behaviorally and academically. Thanks for your support! It truly does take a village to raise a child! -Galina
I had the chance to hear the Fall concerts for Orchestra and Band this week. What a joy!! Thanks to the directors for leading these talented kiddos. The concerts were beautiful.

I wanted to send a shout out to Lorren Nixon. I have a student who has been struggling this quarter in my class. The student cannot attend after school tutoring and I am not available currently to tutor in the morning because of XC. Nixon went out of her way to set up morning tutorials with the student and had her daughter Dylan (Amazing kid!) tutor the student in the morning. The student is going to be able to pass for the quarter thanks to their help and now understands what it takes to be successful in middle school. It takes a village and we are lucky to have so many villagers that are willing to do what is best for kids. -Richard
