A Look back at April
Spring is in the air!
A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
It took a while, but spring seems to have finally arrived! Our students had some neat opportunities in the month of April. They learned about saving money, saw an opera, played some dodgeball, and took the Forward Exam! I would like to compliment our third and fourth grade students on their effort given during the Forward exam. So many took their time, read carefully, and used great strategies to help them determine the answers. The long wait now begins to see how they did!
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank our PTO and all the parents, grandparents, and community members who in any way contributed to our All Elementary Family Fun Night. The number of donations from our community was absolutely amazing. Our PTO worked on the details and organization of the event for months. The turnout for the event was nothing less than incredible. Thank you to all that attended, worked, supported, and donated. The smiles and giggles I heard that night were proof of success!!
A quick reminder about the Green Bay Bullfrog game! If your child earned 2 free tickets for reaching their reading goal, don't forget to return the order form that was sent home by Friday, May 4th. Our PTO is also offering tickets for that same game so we can fill the stands with our Garfield family. Those tickets are a separate order form and do include food, drink, and a hat along with the ticket. The top readers in each class will have their names thrown into a drawing to see who will throw out the first pitch! The PTO will also sponsor a 50/50 raffle at the game. If you have never been to a Bullfrogs game, they are lots of fun--very family friendly! They do fun games between each inning with the fans. Let's flood the Bullfrogs Park with a sea of purple Eagles!! Hope to see you there!
Happy Spring!
Ms. Cassandra Schultz

This professional opera company presented Antonin Dvorak’s Rusalka: A Mermaid's Tale, with the help of 16 of our 4th grade students.
All of the music classes spent some time learning about the music and plot of the opera, which was about a mermaid that falls in love with a human.
