What is The Hour Of Code?

The Hour of Code is a week dedicated to introducing students to computer science. A variety of fun-filled tutorials will be available for students to learn the basics of computer coding.

Why Should My Student Participate In The Hour of Code?

We live in a world surrounded by technology. And we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly hinge on understanding how technology works. Computer science is the foundation for every industry today and growing rapidly by the minute.

Who Is Involved With The Hour Of Code?

Emerson students wishing to participate are welcome to explore with coding during their weekly library class, during lunch recess, or during Power Hour.

When Is The Hour Of Code Happening?

The official Hour of Code is December 7 — 11. However, the tutorials and programs are available online throughout the year.

How Does My Student Participate In The Hour Of Code?

There is no need to officially sign up! Students are welcome to participate and fill out a form as they do their coding so we can tabulate Emerson’s results. Students & parents wishing to learn more about coding can visit www.hourofcode.com or call Mrs. Granger at 360.563.7164.
