No Teacher Left Behind
Technology is becoming a part of childs life on a daily basis. Its more convienent for a student to use the internet to do research than to go to the library. As students use all this new technology, this can make the teachers feel unprepared when using technology in the classroom. Some schools have trouble with keeping up with all the new technology that is being introduced. Some ways that teachers can stay current and up to date with the technology is taking trainings. If schools are provided funding for these trainings and the teachers are required to complete these trainings the teachers will be able to stay advanced on technology. Some older teachers can feel intimidated with the new technology, and they might not be willing to learn about it on their own."It is never easy to change the way you teach."(educause.edu) If classes and trainings are offered consistenlty this could make the change a little easier. Slowly bringing the new technology into the classroominstead of just bringing it all at once can make the transition smoother too.I don't feel that all teachers should use the same practices. Just like children learn in their own way, teachers teach in their own way too. A teacher will teach in a way that they enjoyand a way that fits the students in their classroom. This can be done with or without technology.I do not feel that there should be standards for teachers. I feel that there is enough pressure put on teachers for the children to meet the goals set for the tests the students need to take. I feel the results of the test represent the teacher and school as a whole. (I do not agree on these tests)As teachers are getting newer trainings, and the younger teachers are completing their schooling they are being more prepared for NETS-T. Teachers are being able to enhance their education and training skills for their professional development.
