- Language- Italian, but different dialects based on the region. Younger people speak English when older people are more likely to speak French as a second language.
- Religion- Italy's constitution states freedom of religion, but majority are Roman Catholic, and many worship in unorthodox ways such as praying at shrines and in large groups. There are also groups of Protestants, Jews, and Muslims in their society.

Italy's government is set up very similarly to the U.S. and U.K. governments. There as a leader, the president, who appoints a prime minister. There are also two "houses": the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies. In addition, Italy took the idea of the law making Parliament from the U.K.
Italian Housing:
Italy's housing in the urban parts of the country usually consist of tightly packed apartment buildings juxtapose to each other or above each other on a hill. Most Italians' dreams are to own a house of their own. Although the majority of the population wishes this, many end up calling the appartamento they live in their casa.
