First Grade News #31
What's happening in the world of First Grade?
Just a Quick Note
Welcome to our class! This week is a great week to be a first grader! Our story this week is “Tippy-Toe Chick, Go!”. We will learn about when a problem needs a clever solution. We are working with –ow and –ou words as well as sequence in a story. Our Butterfly books are finished! Be looking our for information about writing their own teaching book soon! Our math focus place value, addition and subtraction with double digits, and number sense. In Science we are talking about parts of a plant and life cycles. Please remember to be working on your spelling words every night! We will continue to go outside for recess each day. As the weather gets warmer, if your student would like to keep a water bottle on their desk, they may. Please mark all water bottles with your student's name and be sure it has a lid that closes. Have a great week!!
Working on our butterfly books!
Wreaths of America
Our Second Grade is doing a service project with Wreaths of America. Wreaths of America is a company that provides and places wreaths on the graves of soldiers at Christmas time. Each wreath is $15. $10 will go to purchase the wreath and $5 comes back to our school. Our goal is to have a wreath on every soldier's grave at Christmas. Please return order forms and money by April 20.

Hello! Welcome to first grade! My goal in First Grade is to expose your students to as many learning styles and environments as we can, so that we can enhance the way that that each student learns best. Through individual and group work we can create an environment that will foster a love of learning that transcends the classroom. Thank you for following us and supporting our classroom!
