Elementary Dismissal Procedures
Safety is our highest priority. For that reason, our pick up procedures are extremely important. We will ask that you let us know at Meet The Teacher, August 4th, how your student will be getting home. The map below shows parking for Walk Up Pick Up and where Car Tag Pick Up will be. To assist with safety, please remain outside the building during dismissal. Please choose the best option for your family and let us know if you have any questions.
Car Tag Pick Up
If you plan to pick up your student in that Car Tag line, please turn left on 7th Street and make the complete loop on Knight Drive to 6th Street. Please do not cut through Elizabeth Drive and please do not block anyone's private driveway. If you do not have a car tag, please stop by the main office on Meet The Teacher Night to pick one up. Students will wait for parents in the cafeteria and then we will bring them to your car in the cafeteria parking lot when you arrive. For safety, walking home is not allowed from this area.
Walk Up Pick Up
If you would like to park and walk up to pick your student up, you may park in the South Parking Lot and walk to the church drive through. There is no parking in this area.
Bus Transportation
If you need to reserve bus transportation for your child, please let us know at Meet the Teacher or contact the director of transportation, Paul Wolf, at 940-688-8923.
Walking or Riding
Students may also walk home or ride their bikes. Bikes/Scooters must be locked up during the day at the bike racks.
Bringing Items From Home 2022-2023
Toys:
Please help us by keeping toys at home so the focus can be on classroom learning and peer social interactions. The only exception to this is if classroom teachers have a special day/event they let you know about or if they allow recess sporting equipment - they will be your point of contact for what is allowed in their classroom. We are unable to ensure the security of items brought from home and are not responsible for them being lost or taken.
Bikes/Scooters:
Bikes and scooters must be locked up at our bike racks to ensure they are not stolen. Please make sure you have a lock for your child prior to school starting and that they know how to use these!
Technology:
We have many students who walk home after school and need a phone for safety. Phones need to remain silent and in a child's backpack. Students may use the school phone during school hours, so there is no need to have their phones on them. If you need to get your child a message, please call our front office 940-688-8923, ext. 101. All classes have technology access in the classrooms.
