The Hemlock woolly Adelgids is a tiny insect that has great and is very dangerous it has the power to kill almost all of the hemlock trees. a non-native plant is Kudzu- it covers seven million acres of land in the southeastern U.S. and threatens many National parks.
Fraser Fir
This tree has flexible branches that makes it less likely they will collapse with snow they have a fatty substance that protects them from the cold
Northern flying squirrel
The flying squirrel is another endangered species in the Fraser fir forest this animal doesn't fly it just glides so they climb the tall trees and glide down to the ground.
Spruce-Fir moss spider
The Spruce-fir moss spider is an endangered species of spider found at high elevations in the southern Appalachian Mountains. First identified in 1923, they inhabit moss that grows on rocks underneath the forest canopy
Ecosystem Services and Present protection
Frasier Fir forests occur on high mountain tops in western North Carolina, generally above 4,500 feet in elevation. The ecosystem provides many trees for humans and around christmas time the forest provides allot of christmas trees for our homes.
