August 26th - September 6th
AUP/RUP/Photo Release Due (August 28)
Parents, please do not forget to submit your students' AUP/RUP/Photo Release paperwork by August 28th so they can begin using the computers for math and reading programs, health/tech, and Live Oak Lab specials classes. These programs are essential for finding out what students know and do not know so we can adjust our instruction to meet these needs. Any delay in getting their computer access can limit the amount of support our teachers can provide. If you misplaced the documents, you can access these documents at https://www.aliefisd.net/Page/7075 or you can also request an extra copy from the front office.
In Need of Supplies or Mode of Dress Clothes?
Any student that is in need of school supplies or mode of dress clothes can have their parent visit our campus and speak with the counselor, Mrs. Sepulveda, or the Communities in Schools representative, Mrs. Davis. They have donated school supplies from local businesses and can also provide vouchers for uniform clothes from partner vendors in our community.
Student Drop Off Change Reminder
Student drop off can be a very busy time for everyone as family members are hurrying off to work and students are needing to make it into the building before 7:55 AM. The front door drop off can back up very quickly. To alleviate traffic and ensure a safe drop off for everyone, we are continuing to encourage all students in PK-2nd grade be dropped off in the back of the school, which tends to have less traffic build up. If older siblings are in the car, they can all be dropped off in the back as well. This will allow parents to exit through the neighborhood instead of getting caught at the stop sign/stop light on Hendon Lane. We thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our students safe.
Special Dress Days
All our Mustangs have now been assigned to either House Citrine, House Emerald, House Garnet, or House Sapphire. The intent of the House System is to provide students with more opportunities to connect with each other and to develop new friendships they might not have had a chance to given their classroom assignments. The spirit and energy they've shown thus far have been phenomenal! To continue the energy, students are encouraged to wear their assigned House color on Fridays. On Mondays, students can wear any Martin spirit shirt and on Wednesdays, students can wear any college shirt. Of course, if your child decides not to wear any of the shirts, please ensure they are in proper mode of dress.
Character Trait of the Month - September
Every month, we will focus on teaching important character traits to students during short lessons in their classroom. For the month of September, we will focus on Respect. Please help us as we develop this trait with students by talking with them at home on what respect means and showing examples of respect every day. For the theme of Respect, students are encouraged to wear RED on September 3rd.
