2019/2020 Teacher of the Year - Jamie Gluski - 8th Grade Science/6th Grade ELA
It is my great pleasure to announce that Walnut Creek Middle School’s 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year is Ms. Jamie Gluski!
Ms. Gluski joined the Creek family in 1998 as a student teacher. Subsequently, she was hired the following school year, and we are so lucky that she chose to spend her career working with our kids. She is an incredibly dedicated teacher, who lives our mission statement of “Every Child, Every Day” to its fullest. Ms. Gluski is incredibly committed to both her students, and her colleagues. She is a consummate professional, who is consistently looking to improve the lives of her students, and the systems in our school.
Ms. Gluski is a model teacher. Her tireless work embodies what it means to be a highly effective educator. She fosters a positive classroom environment, develops strong positive relationships with her students, leads exciting student-centered lessons, and demonstrates a tireless work ethic. Ms. Gluski consistently ensures an engaging and challenging learning environment, while also supporting her students with all of the necessary scaffolding.
Some of the comments that were written on Ms. Gluski’s nomination form are:
“Ms. Gluski is one-of-a-kind at Creek, being the only staff member certified to teach ALL FOUR CORE subjects, and throughout her career at Creek, she has done just that! When necessary, she has stepped up to the plate and taught all that was required. All this with a smile!”
“Ms. Gluski has a keen wit, a sense of humor like no other. She takes the time to focus on Every Student, Every Day knowing through wit and humor she is making a difference in her students' lives.”
“Ms. Gluski is the consummate professional. She is kind and patient, focusing on each student so his/her full potential can be reached, and is dedicated to her students’ learning. Ms. Gluski is, and has always been, willing to go well above and beyond, it’s just who she is!”
For all of the reasons noted above, and so many more, we are honored and privileged to recognize Ms. Jamie Gluski as Walnut Creek’s 2019 - 2020 Teacher of the Year.

Hawk Nest for Home Games - PRE-ORDER PIZZA
All students are still welcome to attend Hawks Nest for FREE for all home athletic events. This opportunity provides students time to complete their homework prior to attending home athletic events. Moving forward, we will sell tickets to students that would like to purchase pizza and pop as a snack during Hawks Nest. Students will purchase tickets for $5 which will buy 2 slices of pizza and a pop. Tickets will be sold at lunch on home game days. Pizza and pop will not be sold during Hawks Nest. We are implementing this change so that we can ensure that we purchase enough/not too much pizza for our students that are attending Hawks Nest.
Students that do not attend the Hawk Nest will not be permitted into an athletic contest unless they are accompanied by their parent/guardian. Parents/Guardians will be required to stay at the event with their child if they did not attend Hawk Nest. Thank you for your cooperation.
